A pair of Regency brass monopodia lamps

A pair of 19th century brass colza 'patent' monopodia lamps with lion heads and ring handles, the legs with decorative ribbons and flowers and terminating in lion's paws on a triangular base.

English, c. 1815
Attributed to Smethurst and Paul - for almost identical examples, see those illustrated in Parissien, Regency Style, (Singapore, 1992) p. 110 and those sold at Sothebys, 'Royal and Noble' (21.1.20), Lot 48.
